I've been thinking what would be my next blog, I feel I'm running out of ideas to write in my blog then I remembered what if I tried cooking blog. I will cook and blog it just for experience since I've been watching You Tube cooking videos for sometime now. I'm not a good cook and I seldom cook in the house either so in order for me to cook food for my family I always use You Tube as my resources for a different recipe. So, today I will share my experience how I cooked "KERALA CHICKEN CURRY" for the first time, just for information to my readers, Kerala is one of the state in India, and why I named it "Kerala Chicken Curry" because as far as I experience and understand, this is how Keralites cooked this type of chicken curry. So let me start.
HERE ARE THE RECIPES with PICTURES
1. Onion, garlic, ginger, and tomatoes
2. Cumin powder, coriander powder, curry powder, turmeric powder, cinnamon powder, and chili powder.
3. Whole chicken, chopped.
4. Cardamon, gloves, cinnamon stick, crushed black pepper, and mustard seeds.
5. Lemon juice
No COCONUT milk, because some chicken curry uses coconut milk but not this.
Ok, for the pictures. Here is what I do.
I bought the powder from Indian Store, Top-left: Hot chili powder, then below-left to right: Cinnamon stick, cumin powder, curry powder, and coriander. I showed it in case my readers will ask where to get this kind of powder.
I prepared the recipes, from left to right: Ginger powder, salt, turmeric (yellow powder), cardamon, whole chicken, cayanne pepper (chili powder), curry powder, mustard seeds, coriander powder. Then, chopped onion, chopped garlic, cinnamon stick, gloves, and tomatoes.
Here's another close up picture.
Then the cooking procedures.
1. Prepare and heat the pan with cooking oil. I used olive oil but any oil can do.
2. First, put MUSTARD SEED in the pan, sautee. If the mustard seeds start to splatter, it is ready.
3. Sautee onion, garlic, and ginger (I forgot to use ginger here). Let it brown, then add tomatoes.
Now, let the pictures do the talking. Hahahaha, lazy to write.
Mix the curry powder, coriander powder, chili powder, cumin powder, and turmeric powder (yellow powder). Add the powder in the pan and mix, also add a little amount of water so that it won't get dry in the pan. Hmmmnn, really not a good cook, I can't even find the right words. Hehehehe. I forgot to add SALT, so you can salt along with the mix powder.
Oopss, that's Cardamon, add it.
Another one, it's Gloves.
If all recipe are ready, you may now add the chicken and mix.
Though chicken will produced water, I still add little water, then place the lid and close. Cooked and simmer it for 30 minutes.
Lastly, I add cinnamon stick and lemon juice.
Now let me end this blog for the final product. I served this as a lunch for my husband and my son. They like it
